And Furthermore!!! Reply with quote
Although many of you have mixed feelings about the war in Iraq, I will tell you that any jokes that support the Taliban, or condemn George Bush or Tony Blair will be deleted. Both of these men in my opinion are trying to do the right thing by trying to stabilize a very volatile region of the world, and give these people some quality of life so that maybe peace will make them have meaning to their lives and not want to kill or die so easy.

Condemning them is easy, as a Monday morning Quarterback. I feel that both did not want to have anyone die needlessly, and that both have access to much more information than they can share with the public, not even for their own defense without giving away secrets that would cause even more news.

The bottom line is that if that part of the world does not get stabilized, it will continue to fester, until they are strong enough to cause world wide havoc. Think of all the past bombings even before this. It was only a matter of time before something had to be done one way or another.

Any Religion, Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddha, etc that has it's believers kill people needlessly in the name of God, is fundamentally flawed. No God would allow for this, the goal is to get along peacefully and help each other grow and become better, more than we are. We did not have a choice entering this world, who are they to prematurely decide who leaves it.

Killing is a barbaric, animalistic instinct. Which we as people should have risen above a long time ago. We have intelligence, and the ability to communicate, all the tools needed. Instead, we run on power and greed. The need to dominate and control.

I am not saying Bush and Blair are perfect, but in my opinion they along with a few other nations are doing their best to try and set things up for peace, the fact that it is not happening is due to the enemy not wanting it to happen, and the more we feed into attacking our leaders, the more we are feeding the enemy.

I for one will not allow this forum to become another CNN, it only serves to add poison to an already bad situation. And as for the narrow minded people who think this is about oil, show me how much oil anyone has got out of Iraq lately, vs. the money spent on the war so far. Canada is the number 1 supplier to the U.S. in case anyone is interested. We top Saudi Arabia. Look it up. Yes if the world runs out of oil right now before alternate renewable fuels are found, everyone would suffer. Put the price of oil at 10 bucks a gallon, and see how fast people are in trouble. Jobs dry up, food, travel, life as we know it would cease. Then see who would be willing to kill for it. Better to stabilize things and share the oil so everyone wins.

As for a solution, I was discussing the issue with a friend of mine, and he had a nice solution, to which I would add a few touches. Pull all troops out of there, with the exception of a few highly trained airborne or commando troops. The troops left would dress not as soldiers, but as the locals dress. So as not to be easily recognizable targets. All soldiers brought back would be assigned to a computer terminal linked to a grid with a spy satellite or flying drones and monitor every square inch of the ground. This would be hundreds of eyes looking at what happens daily all over. Any suspicious behavior would be investigated either by Iraqi forces, or the elite team or both, or outright destroyed by a missile. This would use their terror tactics against them, they would never see what was coming or when.

They would eventually be afraid to move without a reprisal.

They are lacking in technology, let
